okay hey so
would it be problematic/ableist for me to make myself paler (not dead white, but a less pink color than I naturally am) with makeup in a cosplay in order to make a facial scar that’s part of the costume stand out more?
why in the world would that be problematic or ableist? usually I can see the reasoning, but I just don’t understand this one.
Because it’d be specifically to make her facial scarring more noticeable than it is on the actual visible representation of the character.
I still don’t see the problem. Is the character disabled because of the scar? And even if the character is disabled because of the scar, making it more noticeable isn’t ableist. It’s just making it more noticeable.
She kind of shows it off, to be honest.

Then why would it be ableist? If the scar doesn’t affect her able-ness then what is the problem here??
